Which scan?
Pelvic ultrasound is usually the first test for pelvic pain or heavy periods. MRI for endometriosis uses a dedicated protocol when endometriosis is suspected. Breast MRI always includes contrast and is not available at the Preston or Newton-le-Willows centres.
These scans do not replace NHS breast or cervical screening. If you notice a new breast lump, see your GP promptly.

A £25 booking fee secures your GP call and comes off the price.
Common questions
Can I choose a female radiographer?
Ask the centre when they contact you; most will try to arrange it.
Do I need a referral from my NHS GP?
No. Our GP provides the referral after your pre-scan call.
How quickly can I be scanned?
The imaging centre contacts you once we send the referral, usually within a few working days. Scans are not carried out on the day you book.
