Northwest Health Ltd is a private GP practice in Bamber Bridge, Preston. Our GPs arrange, interpret and follow up scans for patients across England.
OUR ROLE
We refer, interpret and follow up
Northwest Health is a CQC-registered private GP practice. The scanning itself is done by our imaging partners across England, on their equipment, by their radiographers, and reported by their consultant radiologists.
Who we are
Northwest Health Ltd is registered with the Care Quality Commission as an independent provider of doctors' consultation services and diagnostic and screening procedures. Our clinic is at 3–4 Dollywaggon Way, Bamber Bridge, Preston PR5 6EW. Our Medical Director, Dr Chun How Tang, is a GMC-registered GP with more than 25 years in general practice and emergency medicine.
How the scan service works
We are the referring clinicians, not the imaging provider. Scans take place at partner imaging centres across England, staffed by their own radiographers and reported by consultant radiologists. We handle the clinical decision before the scan, the referral, and the interpretation and follow-up afterwards.
No scans are carried out at our Bamber Bridge clinic.
Clinical governance
- All consultations are with GMC-registered GPs on the specialist GP register.
- All scans are reported by consultant radiologists.
- Significant findings are discussed with you the same day wherever possible, and we contact your NHS practice directly where the result needs urgent action.
- We hold appropriate medical indemnity for remote consultations and imaging referral.
- We are a subscriber to the Independent Sector Complaints Adjudication Service (ISCAS).

If something goes wrong, tell us first and we will investigate. If you remain unhappy you can escalate to ISCAS, the independent adjudication service for private healthcare.
We share your details with the imaging centre so they can carry out and report the scan. Your report comes to you as a secure PDF; we contact your NHS practice directly only where a finding needs urgent action. See our privacy notice for details.
